Czas spędzony w samochodzie minął szybko i ani się obejrzałam już byliśmy w Berlinie i szukaliśmy ulicy na której mieszkała znajoma u której mieliśmy spędzić te dwa dni. W końcu trafiliśmy pod odpowiedni dom i Pani Ela pojawiła się w drzwiach. Dom był olbrzymi i zrobił na mnie wrażenie. Po rozpakowaniu się i rozejrzeniu po domu zjedliśmy śniadanie. W domu było pełno obrazów i zabytkowych mebli, a pokój w którym spaliśmy miał 60 m2. Po śniadaniu ustaliliśmy co zwiedzamy i ruszyliśmy na podbój miasta. Najpierw kupiliśmy bilety na U-bana i S-bana (metro podziemne i naziemne) po czym trafiliśmy przed ambasadę rosyjską. Po chwili kupiliśmy lepszą mapę dla turystów i ruszyliśmy do \u003Cb\u003EBramy Brandenburskiej\u003C\/b\u003E (Brandenburger Tor), znak rozpoznawczy i symbol połączonego Berlina – niegdyś stojąca na ziemi niczyjej, symbolizowała podział miasta przez mur berliński. Po upadku muru Brama została ponownie otwarta 22 grudnia 1989 roku. Fajne było to, że na przystanek przyjeżdżał co 15 minut, a na jednym bilecie można było jeździć cały dzień i przesiadać się ile chcieliśmy. Kolumna wraz ze statuą ma wysokość 66,89m, a wewnątrz kolumny znajdują się schody prowadzące na umieszczony na wysokości 50 metrów taras widokowy, z którego podziwiać można widok na park Tiergarten oraz na panoramę całego Berlina. Na szczycie wieży znajduje się ponad 8 metrowy posąg Nike, wykonany z brązu. Dawniej pomnik znajdował się nieopodal Reichstagu, ale w 1939 roku Adolf Hitler zarządził przeniesienie go w obecne miejsce. W czasach rządów Hohenzolernów w XIX w. dokonano rozbiórki starego kościoła a na jego miejscu planowano budowę całkiem nowej, monumentalnej świątyni. Dzisiejsza budowla to wynik prac prowadzonych w latach 1894-1905. W konstrukcji wyróżnia się główna bryła kościoła z gigantyczna kopułą o średnicy 85 m. O zewnętrznym pięknie decydują renesansowe dekoracje architektoniczne. \u0026nbsp;We wnętrzach zachował się pierwotny ołtarz z katedry Erasmusa oraz krypta Hohenzollernów, w której spoczywa aż 90 członków dynastii. Obecna kopuła jest wynikiem rekonstrukcji po wojennych zniszczeniach. Po zakupach wróciliśmy do domu, zjedliśmy coś i pojechaliśmy metrem do \u003Cb\u003ESchloss Charlottenburg\u003C\/b\u003E\u0026nbsp;– pałac ten jest najpiękniejszym i największym pałacem Hohenzollernów w Berlinie. Budowla powstawała w latach 1695 – 1790\/1791, za sprawą Króla Fryderyka I, który chciał zrobić prezent swojej ukochanej żonie Charlotcie. Jej właśnie Charlottenburg zawdzięcza swoją nazwę Pałac, a także park wokół niego utrzymane są w stylu angielskim. Przez jakiś czas budynki pełniły rolę rezydencji letniej. Przepych i bogactwo w jakim wybudowany jest Pałac przyprawia o zawrót głowy. Zarówno fasada, jak i wnętrze są utrzymane w oryginalnej stylistyce XVII wieku, co sprawia, \u0026nbsp;że zwiedzający mają okazję przenieść się w czasie.\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv style=\"color: #444444; Po drodze mieliśmy niezłą przygodę... Nasz GPS ześwirował i wysłał nas na jakieś tereny ważne dla Berlina (a przy okazji z zamkniętą drogą i raczej nie można było tam wjeżdżać... Ale my o tym nie wiedzieliśmy). Zatrzymaliśmy się w ostatniej chwili przy jakimś dużym domu, bo zobaczyliśmy, że droga jest zamknięta. Tata próbował ponownie ustawić GPS-a gdy zorientowałam się, że z okna centralnie na nas świeci jakieś światło... Ktoś stał w oknie z latarką! Postanowiliśmy odjechać trochę... Przez chwilę był spokój, jednak po chwili światło pojawiło się z drugiej strony domu i znów świeciło prosto w nas!
